Arguably Italy's greatest and most imitated architect, Andrea Palladio (1505-1580) is the inspiration for this collection of photoframes and tableware. A modern interpretation of the Palladian architectural ethos of precision and restraint, the photoframes, with their softly curved details and subtly exaggerated proportions, give the effect of depth and richness while maintaining an overall feel of classicism. The Chiswick photo frame for example is inspired by the home design of Richard Boyle, 3rd Earl of Burlington, built in 1729. The building was modelled after Palladio's Villa Capra, located on the west bank of the Thames in London. This photo frame features the details from the windows at Chiswick House. The frame can be used both vertically or horizontally.

The newer designs include a pitcher. Classical yet strikingly contemporary, the soft curves and antique-finish adorning this elegant Palladio pitcher make it suitable for any table setting.

Born during the Renaissance, Palladio was influenced by the Roman architect, Vitruvius, adhering to the principles of classical architecture based on mathematical proportions rather than the rich ornamental style of his time. In Venice, Palladio would design some of his most famous commissions, including Palazzo Chiericati, Palazzo Thiene, Villa Capra and San Giorgio Maggiore.

While Palladio's buildings are only found in Italy, the Palladian style reached all across Europe. From 1720 to 1830, it developed into related Georgian architectural styles, and was associated with 'colonial Georgian' in the American colonies. It continues to exert an influence to this day.

The resurgence of the Palladio range was brought back in Autumn 2007 exclusively by Royal Selangor. The Palladio range now includes an array of home accents and tableware to its existing collection of home and wine accessories.

The Palladio collection is famous for its subdued antique finish combined with timeless designs with their soft curves and graceful shapes that accentuate the warmth of pewter. Subtle beading adorns each piece, exemplifying the beauty of simplicity.

The collection now embrace numerous new wine and home accessories in antique finish. Among the new additions to the eminent Palladio Collection are candlestands, tealight holders, plates, wine glass, champagne flute, bottle coaster, wine pourer, funnel and corkscrew.
